Kyle Sterrett, PhD

Dr. Kyle Sterrett is a postdoctoral scholar and a clinical psychology trainee at the Semel Institute and a trainee at the UCLA Tarjan Center. Dr. Sterrett received his M.A. in Social Research Methodology and Ph.D. in Education from UCLA with an emphasis on developmental psychology. His research focuses on understanding the mechanisms of treatment response and how we measure progress for children with neurodevelopmental disorders enrolled in early intervention programs and classrooms. In particular, he focuses on interventions developed for children with little to no spoken language. Clinically, Dr. Sterrett conducts autism and related psychiatric diagnostic assessments for individuals across the lifespan. He provides direct intervention with the individual and training for parents and community providers in the use of evidence based naturalistic early intervention strategies. Today, he will be talking about measuring treatment response in children with autism spectrum disorder at risk for long-term spoken language delays.
