Mission, Vision, and Values
The mission of the Tarjan Center is to advance the self-determination, inclusion, and
quality of life among the diversity of people with disabilities and their
families. We achieve our mission through shared leadership in
training, community education, research, service, and information sharing.
Vision
In 2027, we will see:
- All justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) policies and programs are inclusive of people with disabilities.
- The Tarjan Center as a collaborator and resource on disabilities for UCLA.
- Our networks and partners improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.
- Increased understanding and use of research-informed practices across the lifespan by diverse communities
- Impactful leadership by advocates with developmental disabilities
- Individuals with developmental disabilities are achieving competitive
integrated employment in careers of their choosing
