Research Track

One resident each year may be selected for the Research Track. Residents in the Research Track will have protected time for research in the PGY2, PGY3 and PGY4 years. They will work closely with Erika Nurmi, MD, PhD, to identify a research mentor, develop a research project, and create a timeline and plan for research. We  currently have active researchers to join in the areas of psychosis, geriatric psychiatry, health services, care of the unhoused, use of new psychopharmacologic treatments for depression, and psychotherapeutic treatment for pain.

The track supports travel expenses to present at professional conferences, as well as some funding for research related activities.

Current residents in the research track are PGY2 Aaron Lulla, MD, PhD, and PGY1 Miguel Serrano Illán, MD, PhD.
