Infant Mental Health
UCLA TIES for Families offers the only Infant Mental Health (IMH) program in L.A. County specifically aimed at meeting the needs of infants in DCFS, most with prenatal substance exposure and other risk factors, and their foster/adoptive families. The primary goals are to promote attachment, provide access to early intervention services, and optimize development. This program offers home based mental health services, developmental evaluation, parenting education, and monthly support groups for foster/adoptive parents and infants and toddlers aged 0-3.
If you are interested in a child under 2, our infant mental health program can begin their services before, during, or after your child's multidisciplinary assessment team evaluation. Our services can include a full developmental evaluation which is not a part of the MAT evaluation.
