Parents and Their Children Learn to Reduce Conflict, Boost Social Skills

Wall Street Journal Article: How to Find a Best Friend

The UCLA Parenting & Children's Friendship Program was founded in 1982 and has served over 2000 families.

We offer parent-assisted social skills group programs for children from 2nd-5th grade who are having problems making and/or keeping friends. We also offer parent training/behavior modification programs for parents with children (ages 2-12) and early adolescents (ages 12½-15½). Dates for upcoming courses are listed on our Program pages.

The UCLA Parenting & Children's Friendship Program staff train social work, psychology interns and psychiatry fellows as part of the regular UCLA training programs. We also offer specialized training seminars for professionals/educators interested in implementing our interventions. In addition our staff may be available for presentations and workshops. To request information about training please contact us for additional information.
