Research / Field of Tx
Public & Community Psychiatry
The mission of this research area is to study and understand treatment of individuals with complex mental illness in the community rather than in psychiatric clinics or hospitals. Often, care of people with serious and complex behavioral health needs falls to community service systems such as Medicaid, Medicare, and local grants and contracts. Partnering with these organizations, we can provide care and address mental health and substance use needs in addition to other social determinants of health, under the governing principles of systems-based practice.
