Such delays mean these children miss out on age-appropriate, autism-specific care and a chance to improve their cognitive skills, says researchers. The new study by Dr. Dan Geschwind of UCLA CART, Dr. John Constantino of Washington University in St. Louis, and colleagues was published this week in Pediatrics.
