The UCLA Neuroscience Genomics Core (UNGC)

Located in the Gonda Research Center on the UCLA Westwood campus, the UCLA Neuroscience Genomics Core offers library preparation, sequencing, and array-based genotyping and methylation screening services. UNGC is a not-for-profit academic resource available to UCLA neuroscience laboratories, affiliates, and their collaborators. Non-neuroscience labs can be accommodated on a case-by-case basis.

The full-service core facility operates PacBio Sequel IIe and Illumina NovaSeq sequencers (through BSCRC). We also operate Illumina BeadArray genotyping and methylation platforms and a full complement of supporting equipment.

The UNGC is directed by Dr. Nelson Freimer.

Services include:

  • RNA library construction and sequencing
  • DNA library construction and sequencing
  • Whole-genome genotyping using all currently available Illumina arrays
  • Whole-genome methylation using Illumina Methylation EPIC arrays
