What We Do
The UCLA Tarjan Center serves as a conduit/mecca/hub for people with disabilities, families, educators, and healthcare and other service providers. Our programs apply the latest knowledge obtained through research and make them accessible to individuals near and far through various services offered.
Impacting communities. We strive to reach out to the community for opportunities to learn more about the science of developmental disabilities and the needs and strengths of the people affected by them. As a result, our research, training, and services are focused and effective and have a strong impact on communities. We seek to involve self-advocates and talk to families to strengthen our work and make it especially applicable and ecologically valid.
