Russell Lehmann is an internationally recognized speaker, poet, author, and advocate for autism, mental health, and disabilities. His work has transformed lives across the globe, inspiring acceptance, resilience, and understanding. With a compelling narrative shaped by overcoming profound struggles, Russell challenges stereotypes, fosters inclusion, and advocates for systemic change.
Diagnosed with autism at 12 after spending five weeks in a lockdown psychiatric ward, Russell dropped out of public school in the 5th grade due to severe OCD and debilitating phobias. These early challenges, coupled with a lack of societal support and understanding, led to 15 years of isolation. However, Russell has since emerged as a beacon of hope, using his experiences to empower others and shift perceptions.
Russell’s accolades include being named the 2022 Autism Society of America Advocate of the Year, receiving the 2024 Els for Autism Spectrum Award, and serving as a national board member for The Arc of the United States. He has delivered a powerful TEDx Talk and contributes thought-provoking articles to Psychology Today.
