Haley Brown

Haley Brown is a 2nd year Ph.D. student in School Psychology at the University of Oregon. She is interested in creating equitable school systems that support students with disabilities. Specifically, she is interested in mitigating and addressing disproportionality in assessment and reducing exclusionary disciplinary practices, understanding perceptions of school climate for students with disabilities, and cultivating educator knowledge in disability and mental health to help promote positive student-teacher relationships. Haley earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Adolescent Development at California State University, Fullerton where she worked as a research assistant and supported the development and dissemination of research that is centered on the experiences of autistic adults in college and the workforce. Haley has a variety of applied experiences supporting students with disabilities in school settings. She has volunteered in Orange County elementary schools in classrooms and as an instructional aide in an after-school program. Haley most recently worked as a paraprofessional supporting K-2nd grade autistic students in San Francisco before beginning her graduate training.
