NADC Featured Artist Barbara Romain

Check out the NADC's featured artist Barbara Romain. Mrs. Romain is a visual, performing and teaching artist who earned a BFA degree from the Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts) and an MFA degree from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. Her award-winning paintings have been exhibited in numerous venues including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Holter Museum in Helena, Montana, and the ART BLIND exhibition in Cologne, Germany. Currently work is on display at the Shiva Gallery in NYC, and at the Marshall B. Ketchum University in Anaheim, CA. She is the recipient of Artist in Residence awards from the City of Los Angeles Department of cultural Affairs and the California Arts Council, as well as a Teaching Artist Fellowship from VSA Arts, an affiliate of the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. She was co-founder/co-director of Art Options, and interdisciplinary arts program for Inner city Los Angeles teenagers from 1992-2007. She is currently a Professor at Columbia College Hollywood, School of Film & Television in Tarzana, California. Diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa in 1984, she is legally blind. Barbara was funded in 2015 by the Arts and Accessibility Technical Assistance Grant to create new work that she used to redesign her website.
