Rangaprakash Deshpande

Ranga is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in July 2016 from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Auburn University, AL, USA. His overarching goal is to understand the brain’s functioning and discover and develop effective treatments through advanced brain signal processing techniques. Currently he is on a discovery path to find static/dynamic connectivity abnormalities in body dysmorphic and eating disorders. Previously he has worked on identifying sources of disruption and critical sub-networks during rest and emotion regulation in posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and mild-traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Ultimately, he wants his research to enable handing over complete control of one’s brain to oneself, be it in healthy individuals or otherwise.
