Conor Penfold

Conor Penfold received his bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2005. He is a research assistant for the UCLA Mood Disorders Research Program, focusing specifically upon brain imaging aspects of the project. His interests pertaining to clinical science involve using brain imaging techniques to further the understanding of mental disorders and their complexities.

A central feature of the MDRP's bipolar disorder research is to use brain imaging in order to establish a relationship between structural brain abnormalities (using MRI) and observed functional deficits (using fMRI). Conor's work focuses upon preparing the structural brain scans for further analysis, which can then be compared with their functional counterparts.
