BEAT (Bridging Education & Art Together)
About:Bridging Education and Art Together (BEAT) is a NYC-based nonprofit that offers music programs to youth of all abilities. Since 2009, BEAT has uplifted and transformed the lives of over 1000 students with special needs by using hip-hop to help them harness their creative potential. In our beatboxing workshops, they find the joy of rhythm-based expression that makes them feel cool, confident, and heard. We're very proud of our students, such as Revelino who you'll see in our video. He participated in our beatboxing program at Lavelle School for the Blind (Bronx, NY) from 2009 until he graduated in 2016. He never missed a class, and later went on to perform on Broadway through an organization for performers with special needs as part of "Hairspray". We're excited to forge new partnerships with other NADC organizations as we cultivate the next generation of artists of all abilities! Connect with us at christina@beatglobal.org, on Instagram (@beatglobal), and on Twitter (@beatglobal_).
