Description: This is a 12 inch square oil painting on canvas of a leopard orchid. It has a fuzzy green background and shows the main orchid close up. You can also see the flower stem and partial petals of another orchid. The orchid is pale pink with dark burgundy red spots on it and a bright yellow center. 

Describe the style and technique you used to create your art:
I painted this piece with Winsor and Newton oil paints on a stretched canvas. I used a photograph I had taken as reference, after enhancing the color before printing. I painted the background first using lots of shades of greens and blending them in a circular motion. Then I carefully painted the flowers and stem, using a tiny brush for the details.
