Sam Smith

Sam Smith was funded by the Arts and Accessibility Technical Assistance grant.

Sam Smith was born in New York City and moved to California at the age of six, where he has lived ever since.

Because of a congenital vision impairment, (Optic Nerve Atrophy) he learned to read and write using a closed-circuit-television system, (CCTV) which he also uses to do his artwork.

His earliest memories are of drawing, which allows him to do the thi8ngs, and go places, that his limited vision prevents. He is also a musician. Art and music feed off each other, so that a drawing may inspire a song, and vice versa.
