Matthew Murphy
Matt Murphy is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer. He has produced and written for clients ranging from Grammy Nominated metal band Periphery to up and coming indie-folk singers like Jason Matkin. His instrumental compositions have been licensed for use internationally by companies like PBS and Xbox TV.

I am primarily self taught, aside from an internship at Studio West in San Diego, CA.
Expertise:
I have primarily been self-employed, though I worked as the head engineer at Back to Bassics studio in Miramar for a year as well as a freelance engineer out of Studio West. I also worked for several years as a tattoo artist before returning my focus to songwriting and production. Earlier in my career I was focused on audio production and worked on a wide range of records including most notably contributing writing and production to Maryland based Periphery’s Billboard charting debut. Now my focus is on writing for sync placements in Television and Film, with several placements landed thus far, including a spot on the PBS Network show NOVA Science Now.
