Dr. Helen Lavretsky, professor of psychiatry at the UCLA Semel Institute and director of the Late-Life Depression, Stress, and Wellness Research Program, posted a May 19 Oxford University Press blog about mindful exercise and alternative therapy. The blog highlights her thoughts on mind-body medicine and incorporating complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), Kirtan Kriya meditation, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and yoga to improve mental health in geriatric mood disorders.
