This bright pink drawing depicts an upside down seatbelt seen as if lying in the backseat of a car, drawn like a film negative where dark is light and light is dark. All linear diagonal shadows on the window are blended smooth in contrasting value stripes of shocking magenta for an intense feminine feel.

I made an image of fox on a 7 x 5inch scratchboard, a white clay paper with a layer of black India ink. Using a stylus pen I scratched away the ink to reveal the white underneath while designing the fox. Depending on the pressure of the stylus you can get different shades of white and gray. I used a lot of heavy white lines for the fur of the fox and left a lot of the surrounding area untouched. The area around the nose and neck are untouched, giving the fox a dramatic affect.

This is a 16”x20” acrylic painting. The background is aqua in color with impressions of white daisies throughout. The left quarter of the painting is a side portrait of a girl from the shoulder up. The has a blue eye and blonde, loose curly hair pulled up on her head in a loose style. She is slightly looking down.

Part of a series in Catholic Chruch. This is one of the stations where you stop to pray. Varying line exposure which pushes the colors into very crazy places. The floor has got a green carpet, and I've drawn in the figure of Christ on the Cross with a flashlight.

On the left of this thickly-painted work, we see a mother and grandmother relaxing on one side of a large bed with a gray, ornate headboard in a bedroom. The bed covering has different shades of green stripes. To the right of the bed, there is a little girl (age six or seven) dancing around in one of her mother’s red, sheer nightgowns. She is lifting up part of the nighty to expose her chest, where you can subtly see a scar that runs horizontally across her chest area through the sheer part of the fabric.

This X-ray photogram collage visually represents waves of nausea as panorama. In each of 5 iterations of the stomach x-ray, images of decaying fish swim around stomach cavities exposed beneath a woven ribcage lattice in shades of gree. The images move in a wave from ethereal teal to neon to browning algae slime on a backdrop of cold surgical steel.

Forged in fire, my chess set is my interpretation of chess pieces as wild animals of North America. My design is inspired by my life spent outdoors, working and playing in the American mountains and deserts. I brought those days under the sun and stars into the feeling of my series of thirty-two sculptures which together create the chess set. My time camping and working in National and State Parks inspired the name, ‘Yellowstone”. My set is oversized and all-together, heavy.

A skeletal figure, adorned only with a papal mitre, wields an axe in one hand and a rosary in the other, its foot resting on a bible. Before it stands a small, naked child, turned away from us, the fear or tears palpable even without seeing the face. Edwards' composition is stark and clean, the white background serving to amplify the intricate details of the figures. This piece is a poignant commentary on innocence lost, power misused, and faith betrayed.

this vessel represents the universe of the Taino Indians, matriarcal society, indigenous people if earlier times in Puerto Rico. The woman is the fertility goddess . This symbol is engraved ( petroglyphs) in some remote areas in the Island! Maybe in a river or the forest or caves…!

In the distance the familiar shape of Morro Rock can be seen. Distant land can be seen beyond Morro Rock. The sky is clear blue but hazy.

The video opens with a pianist’s view playing the opening bars of Beethoven’s Appassionata sonata. There is an overlay of static from cochlear processor and tinnitus ringing. Then the video takes the viewer on an animated journey into the interior of a piano composited vintage medical illustrations, set to a soundtrack made with the body of the piano excluding the keyboard. It ends with further excerpts of Beethoven’s Appassionata.

This is an expressionist style painting that came from my imagination about the beauty of the African American woman.

Two horse heads in silhouette with their manes flying in the wind, face each other. The heads are balanced on a flat stone base, a type of rock called, “Utah Limestone”. The horse heads are 3-D outlines from the middle of their necks upwards. The manes are completely 3-D made with many horseshoes that I’ve bent and curved so that they seem to fly in a perpetual breeze. One horse head is higher up than the other so the horses appear to nestle into each other.

This is an expressionist style painting that came from my imagination about the beauty of the African American woman.

I made an image of the head of an owl on a 10 x 14inch scratchboard, a white clay paper with a layer of black India ink. Using a stylus pen I scratched away the ink to reveal the white underneath while designing the owl’s head. Depending on the pressure of the stylus you can get different shades of white and gray. For the owl’s eyes I left the pupil black and iris I took all the black away. Using various shades of white to black created a 3-D affect.

The word, "it," backwards, as if seen in a mirror. The full title is, "Another Way Of Looking At It."

A light blue, cloudless sky occupies the top portion of the painting. On the right side of the painting, the viewer is viewing a city street scene. In the lowest portion of the painting, a sidewalk sprinkled with the day’s detritus, butts up against a group of buildings (2 and 3 stories tall) and disappears into the distance. The closest building to the viewer is covered in a colorful graffiti mural, which dominates most of the left side of the painting. In the extreme foreground, a large, brown teddy bear.

Hand built steel and wood sculpture of an eagle raptor landing on a bed of roses. The raptor’s wingspan is as wide as a 5’ tall human. The raptor’s legs are stretched down towards the ground as it lands in a bed of steel roses. I made the roses out of reclaimed steel from the old electrical panel on my house and my wife’s antique steel baking sheets (she told me she was ready to donate her collection to a sculpture). The tail feathers are down, the beak is slightly open.

This piece is predominantly watercolor with areas of ink. The left area of the painting is red and orange melding together, the center yellow and the right side blue. There is a ti leaf plant in the center of the painting which offers protection. There is a female face off with downcast eyes to the right of center drawn in ink and at the bottom of the page the words are written in ink. “I look in her eyes and I know I am loved”.

The weeping Statue of Liberty expresses the grief and anguish that Verner and so many others felt upon his death. Many other events in the U.S. have evoked similar feelings, and the expression Yearning to Breathe Free could also mean Yearning to Be Free, for immigrants, others of color, and women suffering oppression.

Many yellow colored pink tentacles (looks like many legs moving in the water …they react to movement and water flow) inside of the tentacle is a soft cream colored body which looks like a white flower but it is a living sea creature. It opens and closes in reaction to movement. This was in the bottom of a fish tank at the SF Exploratorium.

The photograph is a composite of a side view of the piano hammers removed from the box so that the hardware is visible. In the negative space around the hammer the details are replicated. Overlaid this pattern is a vintage illustration of the hammer, incus, and stapes bones of the human inner ear.

This is one of my most iconic images from my “Blind Vision” series. It is a Black & white scanographic self-portrait. The frame is filled with white foam. My face appears through a darkness at the right side of the frame. There is a monocular in my eye and streaks of white foam across my face.

The photography is a composite of an overhead view of a grand piano with the lid open juxtaposed with left and right side view of my ears, one wearing a hearing aid and the other a cochlear processor.

I made an image of dragonfly on a 10 x 14inch scratchboard, a white clay paper with a layer of black India ink. Using a stylus pen I scratched away the ink to reveal the white underneath while designing the dragonfly. Depending on the pressure of the stylus you can get different shades of white and gray. I left the dragonfly’s eyes black and in the center body I scratched with a lot of pressure to give the body form. Using various fine white lines, I filled in the wings to recreate feel of a dragonfly’s win
