UCLA Postdoctoral Fellow Awarded 2026 Diversity Professional Development Award

Dr. Jenny Shen was selected as a recipient of the 2026 Diversity Professional Development Award presented by the Division of the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology of the American Psychological Association. The award supports professional development opportunities by helping recipients build new skills, increase their networks, and participate in professional conferences. Dr. Shen, a first-year postdoctoral fellow in the UCLA Division of Population Behavioral Health, alongside Dr. Andrea Tabuenca of the UCLA EMPWR Program, have organized a panel for the World Confederation of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies Congress, a global conference taking place in June 2026 that brings together clinicians, researchers, and policymakers to discuss the latest advances in CBT. The panel will discuss approaches to providing evidence-based care to LGBTQ+ patients across interdisciplinary settings in the current climate and will feature clinicians and researchers from the VA San Diego Healthcare System, NYC Health + Hospitals, Stanford Medicine, and the UCLA Gender Health Program. Dr. Shen looks forward to connecting with other mental health professionals to foster community-building while continuing to strengthen their work as clinicians and researchers in the mental health field. Dr. Shen is thankful to the Division of the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology for this recognition, sharing that it highlights the ongoing opportunities for mental health professionals, providers, and researchers to connect and grow together, even during challenging times.
