We aim to characterize and predict psychiatric disease trajectories using genetic and high-dimensional phenotypic data resources, such as electronic health records. By identifying and integrating different EHR systems, we strive to enable psychiatric genetic studies at scale. In doing so, our lab focuses on studying genetic and environmental risk factors of illness. We focus on developing techniques to extract psychiatric phenotypic signatures from EHR data and develop meaningful patient representations from such resources. We also study ways phenotypes from clinical instruments and health records can be harmonized to ultimately aid genetic discovery. Using these techniques, we tackle major problems in psychiatry, using targeted genetic studies.
