Gaming Technology for Individuals with Cerebral Palsy

Project Summary

This project is funded by the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, UCLA Center for CP, and the Institute of Creative Technology at USC. We continue to work with CPF on this project focused on making gaming technology accessible for individuals with CP severe dyskinectic movement disorders who have very little functional movement. This year tremendous progress was made. Dr. Fowler was a member of the CPF team who attended a meeting at the Microsoft headquarters in Seattle to present progress to date and to discus the importance of this project for people with disabilities. As a result, Microsoft joined us to collaborate on this project and will provide us with access to two popular X-BOX games. If successful, this technology will provide children with severe CP with an opportunity to play video games with their family and friends.
