Camp Leg Power: A Study of Intensive Physical Therapy To Improve Movement and Walking In Children with Cerebral Palsy

We would like to let you know about an intensive physical therapy research program for ambulatory children with spastic cerebral palsy, aged 6-12 years, which will take place this summer. The exercises will be performed during a fun afternoon summer program called “Camp Leg Power” held on the UCLA campus, in a setting that includes an outdoor play area.  UCLA undergraduates will assist as volunteer camp counselors.  Exercises will be performed using robotic gaming devices, Kinect gaming and a wide variety of fun games and sport activities.  Children will be able to work on their functional skills and, most importantly, have fun! The purpose of the study is to determine who can best improve walking ability participating in specialized physical therapy in a fun camp like atmosphere.

We aim to recruit up to 10-20 children for this study.  More information is available in the attached flyer.
