Postsecondary Education

  • Open the Doors to College - focuses on the access and participation of students with intellectual disabilities (ID) to California's 2-year community colleges and 4-year state colleges and universities.  Information and technical assistance is provided to families, students, and professionals on PSE and youth with ID and Autism. Under contract with the California Community College Chancellor's Office we are able to provide policy consultative services in the areas of interagency collaboration and technical assistance to the 100 community colleges.
  • California Consortium on Postsecondary Options for Students with Developmental Disabilities -  this consortium is a unique collaboration among representatives from higher education, the developmental disabilities service system, K-12 education, rehabilitation, parents and students to address and advocate for PSE options for students with ID and Autism.  The vision of the consortium is that by 2012, students with ID will have the opportunity to support to pursue PSE learning opportunities that bring personal, social, vocational, and economic fulfillment.
