Statewide Forums on Careers in the Arts for People with Disabilities
Deadline: February 29, 2012
The National Arts and Disability Center (NADC) in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) is pleased to announce support to conduct Statewide Forums on Careers in the Arts for People with Disabilities. The purposes of the Statewide Forums are to support activities that (1) assess the education and career needs and barriers for artists and arts administrators with disabilities; and (2) develop and implement strategies to overcome barriers and advance careers in the arts for individuals with disabilities. Please see attached.
The Forums are expected to ensure the full participation of artists with disabilities in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of Forum and related activities. The specific focus will be responsive to the career-related opportunities and challenges of artists, arts technicians and arts administrators with disabilities within the individual states. States are to address the career development of artists with disabilities of all ages, including youth.
To express interest please contact Katharine Hayward at khayward@mednet.ucla.edu by February 6 or if you have any questions.
