Dr Gary Small Gary Small Director

Gary Small, MD, Professor of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, is the Director of the UCLA Longevity Center and one of the world's leading physician/scientists in the fields of memory and longevity. He has developed breakthrough brain-imaging technology that allows physicians to detect brain aging and Alzheimer's disease years before patients show symptoms.
Randall Espinoza MD, MPH, Associate Director, Clinical Professor in the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry at UCLA, talks and lectures widely to community and professional groups on older adult issues and mental health topics.
Fernando Torres-Gil PhD, Associate Director, also a professor of social welfare and public policy at the School of Public Affairs, is one of six new commission members appointed by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa
David Merrill MD, PhD, Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry & Biobehavioral Sciences, is an Adult and Geriatric Psychiatrist at UCLA. His interests include Aging and Memory Research. His Preventative Medicine projects examine factors contributing to healthy brain aging and prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease. Dr. Merrill received a Friends of the Semel Travel Award to present results of his research at the 2010 International Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease.

Anel Herrera Senior Administrative Analyst, serves as the associate administrator for the Center, handles inquiries regarding the Center's activities; administers center's research funding opportunities; oversees the production of the Annual Research Conference; and manages board of director's initiatives, memberships and tributes.
Sherrie Goldfarb Memory Training Representative, Coordinates the Center’s Memory Training program: Sherrie manages the local course offerings, recruits volunteer trainers, provides support to the trainers who implement the program, and identifies local venues for program expansion.
