Research Interests:
Dr Novacek’s current research encompasses two directions, both of which aim to improve
community integration among individuals who have experienced homelessness. The first line
focuses on examining whether there are racial differences in community integration and
identifying psychosocial predictors of community integration to inform the development of
culturally congruent rehabilitative interventions for homeless-experienced Black Veterans. The
second line of research aims to develop a reliable and valid measure of self-stigma for
individuals who have experienced homelessness.
