Bodies of Work

Bodies of Work, a network of artists and organizations, is a catalyst for disability arts and culture that illuminate the disability experience in new and unexpected ways. Housed in the Department of Disability and Human Development at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Bodies of Work (BOW) is a consortium of more than 50 of Chicago’s most recognized cultural, academic, healthcare and social service organizations. The consortium advances the disability arts and culture movement, which illuminates and celebrates the diversity of the disability experience. Beyond the creation of disability arts and culture festivals, Bodies of Work provides a forum for on-going programs that honor and explore the accomplishments of local, national and international artists.
