Therese Verner - Save Our Planet

Verner was Inspired to create Save our Planet by my overwhelming concern for the effects of climate change on our world. Rising sea waters and extreme weather. Are already affecting our coastal communities. In this painting, the gigantic wave engulfs our planet (on the left). The fiery sky represents the wildfires destroying our wilderness.

Verner use broad brush strokes and droplets of light color to emphasize the emotion in this piece. Verner created the sign by hand-lettering a separate sheet of paper, gluing to the canvas, and glazing with the teal paint.
