Services
The HEART lab is associated with two mental health clinics that provide different types of evidence-based treatments.
First, the HEART lab is associated with the Youth Stress and Mood (YSAM) Program [Dr. Jocelyn Meza, YSAM Associate Director]. The YSAM Program provides treatment for suicide prevention, including adolescents (ages 12 to 17) with depression, emotion dysregulation, suicidality and self-injurious thoughts and behavior.
YSAM offers the following services:
- Intake assessments
- Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
- Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy Skills Groups
- Family Education, Treatment, & Support
- Referrals for specialized procedures and/or ongoing care

Second, the HEART lab is also associated with the Spanish Speaking Psychosocial Clinic (SSPC). Dr. Jocelyn Meza is an attending clinical supervisor at SSPC in where treatment for depression for adults is available. AT SSPC, Dr. Meza provides a 16-week group cognitive behavioral therapy in Spanish for adults with a current or previous diagnosis of major depression.
SSPC offers the following services in Spanish:
- Intake assessments
- Group Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
- Individual Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
