Research Interests:
In her research, Dr. Rachel Ceasar integrates approaches from anthropology and public health to examine how social contexts shape why people choose to use or abstain from substances. She is a NIDA Diversity Supplement Postdoctoral Scholar at USC where she is examining the impact of cannabis on opioid use among people who inject drugs in Los Angeles, CA. She is currently preparing an K grant project to examine women's motivations and use of cannabis during pregnancy and parenthood.
