Lisa De La Rue, Ph.D.

Research Interests:
Dr. De La Rue’s research adopts a social-ecological framework, which aims to delineate the gendered, cultural, and contextual associations of violence and victimization and the intersection with substance misuse. She is especially interested in the experience of girls and womxn who are impacted by violence, with the aim of changing systems to be more responsive and accountable to the needs of diverse womxn. This includes advocating for strategies that disrupt punitive reactions to trauma.
