Research Interests:
Dr. Mahaffey’s research focuses on HIV health disparities among Black men. Specifically, Dr. Mahaffey uses a community-engaged research approach and the social-ecological model to examining the intersection of race, culture, and HIV risk; aiming to understand the syndemic of risks and its impact on Black, sexual minority men.
