Research Interests:
Dr. Brooks' research focuses on the health and well-being of queer and transgender people of color (QTPoC). His work is at the intersection of stigma, identity development, positive psychology, and clinical health psychology. Dr. Brooks primarily examines how the identity development process influences mental health and health behaviors among QTPoC within the context of other syndemic factors that increase risk for HIV and poor health outcomes.
