Kyoji Okita
Kyoji was born in Tokyo, Japan and received his M.D. from Hamamatsu University School of Medicine in 2007. He later received his MD Ph.D. from Chiba University in 2013. He was trained as a psychiatrist in Chiba University Hospital in Japan while simultaneously continuing education on PET imaging at Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology. His previous work is centered around cognitive-behavioral therapy for somatoform disorder, forensic psychiatry, community health and psychopharmacology (mainly focused on abnormal bone-turnover as a side effect of antipsychotics). His main goals are to establish the objective evaluation for psychological symptoms and to contribute to improvement of the neuropharmacological intervention for the patients with psychiatric disorders using PET-imaging techniques so that patients can receive more suitable treatment. He had a daughter in Los Angeles in 2013, and he believes she is the most adorable baby in the world.
