Ediza Garcia, Psy.D.

Clinical Coordinator, Child and Family Trauma Service

Dr. Garcia is the Associate Director of Training at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior where she heads the FOCUS resiliency training for the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health and USC’s Building Capacity in Military-Connected Schools program.   She is a Research Scholar for the Military Child Education Coalition and serves as a consultant for the National Military Family Association's Operation Purple Family Retreats. Dr. Garcia is the Clinical Coordinator of the UCLA Child and Family Trauma Service. She is a licensed clinical psychologist who received her doctorate from Regent University.  Dr. Garcia completed her internship and fellowship training at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she specialized in the prevention and treatment of child and family traumatic stress. She has a particular interest in serving children and families of low socio-economic status whose primary language is Spanish, as well as children connected to the foster care system. She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Dr. Garcia is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at USC's Rossier School of Education.
