About UCPLA’s Adaptive Devices

Designed by UCPLA’s Adaptive Design Coordinator and created in-house using 3D printing technology, these patented adaptive devices are designed to address a variety of mobility and dexterity challenges, enabling users to engage in activities that range from art creation to casting ballots.

Adaptive tools are developed in conjunction with the individuals UCPLA serves, offering the opportunity to truly customize adaptability based on a user’s needs, desires, and preferences.

Head Tool

  • Intended for use by individuals who have range of motion and control with their head
  • Fits on top of the head with an adjustable knob located on the back
  • Curved, tubular arm allows various implements to be attached to the base for writing, gripping, pointing, etc.
  • Interchangeable attachments in varying sizes

Hand Palm Tool

  • Intended for use by individuals who have range of motion and control with their hand(s)
  • Utilizes a round/ball-shaped design that fits around the hand and extends to a barrel of circular tubes that accommodate various attachments
  • Straps comfortably maintain the position of the tool in the palm of the hand

Foot Tool

  • Intended for use by individuals who have range of motion and control with their foot or feet
  • Utilizes a cover design that fi ts seamlessly over a typical shoe with an adjustable heel strap to keep the tool in place
  • Curved, tubular arm allows various implements to be attached to the base for writing, gripping, pointing, etc.
  • Interchangeable attachments in varying sizes
