Terri Laird

Terri has always been artistic but had to give up her career as an urban designer when fibromyalgia took hold in 1999. In the several years that have passed, she has tried numerous therapies to help ease pain and stiffness. It was not until she began surrounding herself with the plants in the local Desert Botanical Garden and painting landscapes that she found some relief from the constant pain. Prior to painting landscapes Terri had always done figure and portrait drawing and painting. Relief however, was not found in these subjects. It has been through observation of the flora and fauna of the Sonoran Desert that she has found freedom if only briefly. As soon as the plein air works are done, the pain returns.
