Training in Social and Independent Living Skills

Overview

This practicum course equips trainees with behavioral techniques for enhancing interpersonal, daily living, and social skills in a group format with modeling, feedback and behavioral rehearsal. Trainees learn the methods by participating experientially in an ongoing social skills group with patients. Visual aids are used to enhance learning. Offered continuously throughout the year, Wednesdays, 4:30-6:00 p.m. at the Semel Institute and Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital. Prerequisite: psychology intern, psychiatry resident, medical student, interns, faculty and staff.
