Psycho-Dynamic Therapy Seminar

Overview

Seminar applying psychodynamic principles to a full range of psychiatric treatment, with central focus on patient/therapist interaction. Then symptom vs. character neurosis, resistance, transference and counter transference, ego-strength, therapeutic alliance, corrective emotional experience, uncovering vs. suppressive, insight vs. supportive treatment, will be explained and illustrated in down-to earth terms using videotapes of participants and senior psychiatrists. Designed for psychiatry residents, but other mental health trainees and staff welcome. Subsequent mentoring possible.
