Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior Review

Overview

The course is a four-hour review of the techniques utilized in the prevention, identification, understanding, and management of assaultive behavior. This review is for staff who utilize verbal intervention almost daily and are familiar with the indications and causes of assaultive behavior. A brief review of these skills is covered by discussion and printed material. The emphasis is on review of the hands-on techniques and approaches necessary to prevent injury and maintain control once actual physical assaultive behavior begins. Prerequisite: Course N301 or N318 within one year.
