Neurological and Neuropsychiatric Syndromes

Overview

This course will focus upon syndrome analysis and differential diagnosis of the most common neurological, general medical, and neuropsychiatric disorders that impact neuropsychological status. Each lecture will focus on the pathophysiolgy of the disorder/disease and how it affects CNS functioning, its typical course and pattern of cognitive and behavioral impairment, and a review of any special issues in the neuropsychological evaluation of the specific population. An illustrative case presentation will also be included. Course offered Winter and Spring quarters, Thursdays, 4:00-5:30 p.m., Room C8-885, Semel Institute. Prerequisite: consent of instructor.
