Evaluation of Infant and Preschool Children

Overview

This course will focus on the early development of children and is designed to train individuals to provide clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and brief treatment to children from birth through five years of age. Trainees will be provided with an integrated approach to developmental theory, experience in formal assessment of infants, preschoolers and their families, and opportunities for the direct observation of young children. Content areas will include an overview of early child development and psychopathology, assessment techniques and measures used to assess young children, and approaches to intervention and brief treatment. Offered continuously throughout the year, Wednesdays, 10 a.m.- 12:30 p.m., Room 58-261B Semel Institute.  Prerequisite: consent of instructor.
