Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Basics and Beyond

Overview

This course reviews the basic theories of Cognitive Behavioral Therapies. Students are lead through the theory and structure of the therapy via readings, videotapes and role-play. Students learn to conceptualize cases from a cognitive behavioral perspective. Students are also given a broad overview of multiple cognitive and behavioral therapies including DBT, ACT, CBASP and MBCT. Course is offered continuously throughout the year, Mondays, 10:30-12 p.m., Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, St. Johns Amphitheatre.  Prerequisite: consent of instructor.
