Biological Bases of Psychiatric Disorders

Overview

(Same as Biology M191, Physiological Science M181, Psychology M117J, and Neuroscience M130.) Underlying brain systems involved in psychiatric syndromes and neurological disorder, including schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, and obsessive/compulsive disorder. Provides basic understanding of brain dysfunctions that contribute to disorders and rationales for pharmacological treatments. Prerequisites: Neuroscience M101A (or MCD Biology M175A or Physiological Science M180A or Psychology M117A) or Physiological Science 111A or Psychology 115.
