Approaches to the Forensic Patient

Overview

This course exposes the resident through didactics and direct patient care in the jail and other sites to psychiatric issues within the correctional system. Contributors to the current flow of mental health patients into corrections will be examined. Resident will prepare for further specialization in a forensic fellowship. Offered continuously throughout the year, one month rotation, 1-South,Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Prerequisite: consent of instructor.
