Advanced Therapeutics

Overview

This is the UCLA/San Fernando Valley Program's PGY-III psychopharmacology course.  Lectures focus on treatment refactoriness, combination pharmacotherapy and novel pharmacotherapies for each of the major psychiatric disorders.  Pharmacotherapy lectures are paired with lectures on cognitive-behavioral psychotherapeutic interventions for each disorder.  Course includes resident preparation of a "state of the art" review of a specific topic in psychopharmacology.  Required for PGY-III residents.  Weekly, Wednesdays, 3-4:30 p.m.  October - December.
