Addiction Medicine

This eight-week module will present an overview of addiction from a biological, social, and psychological perspective. The developmental stages of treatment and recovery will be reviewed. The biological, social, and psychological aspects of addiction will be emphasized. Specific addictive disorders will be reviewed and case presentations expected. Clinical vignettes will be discussed by the class. Offered Summer quarter, Wednesdays, 12-1 p.m., Sepulveda V.A. Medical Center: Prerequisite: consent of instructor.
