New SAMHSA-Funded Center Awarded to UCLA Youth Stress & Mood Program

The U.S. Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awards Center for Trauma-Informed Suicide, Self-Harm & Substance Abuse Prevention & Treatment to UCLA Youth Stress & Mood Program. This grant is part of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN, The Center includes hubs at UCLA and Duke and will provide national expertise on adolescents affected by trauma, emphasizing services for suicide/self-harm and substance abuse. By supporting trauma-sensitive evidence-based practice (EBP) for these problems, the Center will provide a resource with potential to decrease morbidity and mortality associated with suicidal/self-harm behavior and substance abuse in adolescents suffering the effects of trauma.
